Software Engineer (Golang / .NET, Azure, AI)

About the role

Genetec, a global leader in video surveillance software, is hiring a Software Engineer in Vienna to help shape the future of security investigations. You will build cloud-based services and AI-powered capabilities that let customers search, analyze and act on security data at scale, working in a growing engineering team with a high degree of ownership and autonomy.

Key responsibilities

• Build and evolve hybrid solutions connecting Genetec's on-premises and SaaS products.
• Develop backend services and APIs mainly with .NET or Go.
• Design data integrations and pipelines for multiple security data types, and build investigation workflows across products.
• Develop multi-domain search, analytics and movement-analysis capabilities.
• Integrate AI features such as natural-language search, computer vision, semantic search, summarization, anomaly detection and recommendations.
• Productionize and maintain models delivered by research teams through the Genetec ML Platform.
• Design for hybrid constraints such as data locality, bandwidth, retention, security, reliability and scale.
• Work with Product, UX, QA, Security, AI and other teams, and contribute to architecture, testing, CI/CD, observability and production operations.
• Take part in paid on-call and incident response, and share knowledge.

Required profile

• Strong professional experience with Go or C#/.NET, with willingness to use both over time.
• Experience designing and building APIs and production software.
• Experience writing maintainable, tested code and taking part in code reviews.
• Familiarity with Git and CI/CD, and a pragmatic, independent problem-solving approach.
• Professional English, and an interest in solving complex customer problems.

Required skills

• Strong SQL and data modelling.
• Nice to have: Azure or another cloud platform, hybrid/on-premises systems, data pipelines, search and analytics, AI/ML model production, containers, infrastructure as code, observability, React and TypeScript (frontend is optional).
