Senior Product Manager - Payments

About the role

As a Senior Payments Product Manager you will define and execute the strategic vision for Bitpanda’s fiat payments infrastructure. You will own the core deposit and withdrawal engines that serve millions of retail users, turning fiat on‑ramps into frictionless gateways for modern investing.

Key responsibilities

• Drive the strategic product roadmap for consumer deposits and withdrawals across multiple European geographies, maximizing payment method localization.
• Lead the cross‑functional engineering squad, writing precise PRDs and managing scope from ideation to delivery and post‑delivery.
• Design robust payment state machines, edge‑case handling and idempotent systems to eliminate lost deposits.
• Build intelligent payment routing and cascading logic, normalising decline reasons and implementing smart retries.
• Reduce processing costs per transaction through routing efficiencies, commercial negotiations and multi‑rail optimisation.
• Automate ledgering, settlement monitoring and exception handling in partnership with Finance, Fraud and Risk Operations.
• Act as the main product contact for external providers and PSPs, steering technical discovery and enforcing SLAs.

Required profile

• 5+ years of product management experience in a high‑growth consumer fintech, neobank or retail broker platform.
• Hands‑on agile executor comfortable working deep in API ergonomics, webhooks, microservices and system observability.
• Deep knowledge of fiat payment rails such as SEPA, SEPA Instant, Faster Payments and card schemes.
• Data‑driven mindset with strong analytical skills using tools like Tableau, Qlikview or SQL.
