About the role
This senior expert role sits within the B&R R&D team of ABB's Machine Automation division and reports to a Team Lead. The work model is onsite with 10 home office days per month.
Key responsibilities
- Design and improve end-to-end development processes for hardware, software and embedded systems, turning engineering, quality, security and compliance requirements into usable workflows.
- Establish common process principles across Product Groups while helping teams adapt them to their own environments.
- Work with tool owners, DevOps and IT to improve tool integration, traceability and workflow automation.
- Assess process maturity and effectiveness, and coordinate process changes driven by new technologies, organisational developments or regulatory requirements, including the use of AI and automation.
Required profile
- Degree in software engineering, electrical engineering, automation, mechatronics, systems engineering, industrial engineering or a comparable field.
- Several years of professional experience in hardware, software, embedded-system or complex product development.
- Ability to understand complex technical and organisational dependencies and turn them into pragmatic solutions.
- Ability to build alignment and drive implementation without relying on formal authority.
- Fluent German and English.
- Nice to have: experience designing, implementing or improving development processes across multiple teams, and knowledge of engineering toolchains.
What we offer
- Flexible working models, including flextime and hybrid options.
- Health measures, a Global Employee Assistance Program and gender-neutral parental leave.
- Participation in the Global Employee Shareholder Acquisition Program (ESAP) and meal allowances.
- Training opportunities and structured development programs.
- An international, inclusive work environment.
- Minimum monthly pay of 4,472.11 EUR for a full-time position as of May 2026, in line with the electrical and electronics industry collective agreement.
