Political Party Financing Lead – International Consultant

About the role

The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) seeks an experienced International Consultant to lead its Political Party Financing initiative. The consultant will support UNODC’s mandate to strengthen transparency and accountability in political finance across target countries, in line with UNCAC Resolution 11/7.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and present the methodology and work plan for the study.
• Produce draft and final study reports with recommendations and priority interventions.
• Provide inputs for regional events and technical sessions.
• Deliver targeted technical support packages to each designated country.
• Coordinate closely with implementing partners such as International IDEA and IFES.
• Collect good practices, develop implementation guidance, and facilitate peer exchange.
• Incorporate stakeholder feedback into final deliverables.

Required profile

• Demonstrated expertise in political party financing and transparency frameworks.
• Familiarity with UNCAC, especially Resolution 11/7, and related international legal instruments.
• Experience delivering technical assistance and capacity‑building projects for governments or international organisations.
• Strong analytical, report‑writing, and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
