Head of Gaming & Esports Events

About the role

Red Bull is looking for a Head of Gaming & Esports Events to join its Global Gaming and Esports Team at its headquarters in Salzburg, Austria. The role leads hundreds of gaming events across 50+ markets and shapes Red Bull's global gaming event strategy, using top-tier intellectual properties such as those from Microsoft or Sony and the influence of Red Bull Players.

Key responsibilities

• Own and shape the global gaming event strategy, creating and executing world-class gaming, esports and entertainment events, and develop a long-term vision for Red Bull's presence in gaming
• Oversee contract negotiations covering budgets, performance agreements, objectives and branding guidelines
• Maintain regular contact with over 50 international colleagues, lead global business planning for gaming events and coach national Gaming Marketing teams
• Act as key contact for internal departments (Media Network, Partnerships, Legal, Brand Marketing, On Premise, Off Premise) and external stakeholders, supporting revenue growth from gaming events
• Manage a team of professionals, including their development, performance and succession planning
• Lead new projects such as consumer activations, sales-driven opportunities, merchandising and new partnership and revenue models

Required profile

• Minimum 10+ years in a leading marketing role in the event space (gaming, esports, sports, etc.) at Red Bull or a similar consumer-driven brand, agency, publisher or organisation, with full content and budget responsibility
• Proven collaboration with gaming event organisers, a strong network in the gaming/esports industry and deep familiarity with PC, console and mobile games
• Demonstrated success as an independent project leader with strong leadership and team-management skills
• Ability to manage complex projects across multiple stakeholders and markets
• Fluency in English is mandatory; additional languages are a plus

• Active gamer with hands-on knowledge of competitive titles such as CS, League of Legends, Dota 2, Valorant, Rainbow Six and Age of Empires II
• Communication, negotiation and project management skills
