Director, Financial Controls

About the role

The Director, Financial Controls leads the Financial Controls unit, ensuring a robust internal control framework and the timely, accurate delivery of financial statements in line with the Fund’s policies, international standards and best practices.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure quality controls over all financial transactions, maintain accurate records, and oversee financial reporting for the Fund and special funds, complying with IFRS and other accounting standards.
• Lead quarter‑end and year‑end close processes, authorize administrative payments, and verify compliance with accounting rules and cost‑center allocations.
• Oversee banking and custodian relationships, manage cash, liquidity, foreign‑exchange and funding activities, and supervise business‑partner record maintenance.
• Provide leadership to a multicultural team, drive change‑management initiatives, manage external auditor engagements, and mentor staff for professional development.
• Strengthen the Fund’s capacity by enhancing financial‑management processes and participating in relevant committees.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Financial Management or a related field.
• Recognized accounting certification (CA or CPA) required.
• Minimum 15 years of relevant professional experience, including at least five years at senior level in an international banking institution.
• Fluent English; working knowledge of Arabic, French, German or Spanish is an advantage.
