Product Engineer II - Indoor Positioning Systems

About the role

At the Esri R&D Center in Vienna, we drive innovation in Indoor Positioning System (IPS) technology to enhance indoor mapping capabilities. As a software engineer experienced in GIS, you will translate user requirements into high‑quality product designs. You will contribute to design, documentation, testing, release, and deployment of ArcGIS IPS.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in the design and specification of new GIS capabilities based on user experiences and requirements.
• Write help topics, assistance guides, and respond to product forum questions.
• Design and execute manual and automated tests supporting an agile development team.
• Create testing procedures and sample code using Python scripts to demonstrate product capabilities.
• Develop new ideas and best practices for extending the product.
• Coordinate with team members and address high‑priority technical support issues.

Required profile

• 2+ years of experience supporting software testing or development within an agile environment.
• Familiarity with ArcGIS or other GIS and mapping products.
• Experience with C++, Kotlin, Swift or Python.
• Strong English communication skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, GIS, geography, engineering, mathematics, or a related field.
