Technical Director – System Architect (UHF / RFID Systems)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Technical Director – System Architect to lead the design and development of cutting‑edge UHF RFID systems at our Gratkorn site. You will shape the technical direction, collaborate with cross‑functional teams and act as the main technical liaison for key customers.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with Product Management, Marketing and Technical Leads to define detailed product requirements based on customer needs.
• Design robust, scalable system architectures aligned with requirements and use cases.
• Define and drive system integration and validation concepts in partnership with interdisciplinary teams.
• Support product development throughout implementation and validation, ensuring high quality and technical excellence.
• Serve as technical interface to key customers from definition through production ramp‑up, addressing new requirements and complex issues.
• Conduct technical investigations of competitor products to identify trends and opportunities.
• Participate in standardisation activities for RFID/UHF (e.g., EPC) and collaborate with global teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD in Electronics, Computer Science or related field.
• 15+ years of industry experience in system architecture for UHF RFID, wearables or IoT devices.
• Strong understanding of wireless communication technologies and radio systems.
• Basic knowledge of UHF measurement techniques and product development lifecycles.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
