Team Lead – Work Preparation & Machining

About the role

We are looking for a Team Lead to drive work preparation and machining activities within our Production Planning and Control department. The role combines technical expertise with leadership of a team to ensure precise, on‑time manufacturing of complex components.

Key responsibilities

• Create, maintain and optimise work schedules, manufacturing documents and production processes.
• Perform feasibility checks, calculate production times and evaluate manufacturing costs.
• Coordinate production planning with manufacturing, purchasing and quality assurance.
• Review customer orders and technical documents, monitor progress and resolve capacity bottlenecks.
• Analyse and optimise existing processes to reduce lead times and increase productivity.

Required profile

• Completed technical education (HTL, master craftsman, vocational technical school or degree) preferably in machining or mechanical engineering.
• Several years of experience in work preparation, production planning or manufacturing control in a metal‑processing environment.
• Sound knowledge of machining technology and materials science.
• Experience in functional leadership or willingness to take responsibility for a team.
• Strong commitment, flexibility and solution‑oriented mindset.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP systems, preferably SAP.
• Advanced use of MS Office applications.
