Spanish Interpreter – Temporary WAE Positions (Multiple Locations)

About the role

The United Nations Office at Vienna is seeking qualified Spanish interpreters for temporary appointments under the When Actually Employed (WAE) modality. Successful candidates will join the DGACM Global Language Register and may be called upon for short‑term assignments at various UN duty stations.

Key responsibilities

• Provide accurate interpretation into Spanish of speeches delivered in English and French.
• Participate in sensitive meetings and, when required, act as team leader for interpreter groups.
• Support the delivery of high‑quality multilingual services for UN meetings and conferences.

Required profile

• Broad knowledge of UN subjects, including political, legal, economic, scientific and technical topics.
• Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines and maintain professionalism.
• Commitment to gender‑responsive interpretation and continuous learning.
• Strong teamwork orientation and willingness to collaborate with colleagues.

Required skills

• Simultaneous interpretation from English/French to Spanish.
