Immunology Scientist – Human‑First Drug Discovery

About the role

Parallel Bio is building a human‑first drug discovery platform using high‑throughput immune organoid experiments. We are looking for an Immunology Scientist to design, execute and interpret tissue‑culture experiments that inform drug development decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Build and validate immune organoid models, from tissue handling to functional immunological readouts.
• Develop disease‑relevant immune models and improve assay design, integrating with other biological systems.
• Ensure experiments are reproducible, well documented and transferable, collaborating with automation and computational teams.
• Run multiple projects in parallel, set experimental priorities and adjust plans based on data.
• Mentor junior scientists, share knowledge and flag ambiguous results.

Required profile

• PhD in immunology, cell biology or related field with 5+ years in biotech, pharma or translational research.
• Broad expertise in innate and adaptive immunity and experience with secondary lymphoid organ biology.
• Strong background in primary cell and tissue culture, including 3D or organoid systems.
• Ability to work independently, troubleshoot complex systems and manage several projects simultaneously.

Required skills

• Flow cytometry panel design and analysis.
• Multiplex immunoassays and imaging‑based readouts.
• Primary cell, 3D organoid and iPSC culture techniques.
• Scripting in Python or R and data visualisation.
• Experience with spatial transcriptomics or proteomics of immune tissue (preferred).
