Head of Cyber Fusion – Lead Cyber & Fraud Detection

About the role

Make a difference in the financial life of millions of people by shaping the next generation of cyber and information security at Erste Digital. As Head of Cyber Fusion you will lead a multidisciplinary team that combines detection engineering, threat intelligence, incident response and fraud‑prevention into a single operational capability. You are accountable for outcomes, people leadership, service maturity and delivering cross‑Group value.

Key responsibilities

• Set direction and strategy for threat and fraud detection, detection platforms and cyber threat intelligence.
• Continuously improve signal quality, detection coverage and response speed across endpoints, identity, network, cloud and applications.
• Drive automation of repeatable investigation, containment and fraud‑response activities while preserving expert judgement.
• Build strong operational interfaces with preventive controls, exposure management, security validation and the Group’s fraud, payments and customer‑protection stakeholders.
• Design capabilities to be reusable across the Group, creating blueprints, patterns and standards that scale beyond Erste Digital.

Required profile

• Leadership experience in security operations, fraud prevention, incident response or detection engineering.
• Solid understanding of modern SOC capabilities, telemetry, detection engineering and threat intelligence processes.
• Ability to stay effective under pressure and make sound judgement with incomplete information.
• Strong improvement mindset – using incidents and operational data to measurably enhance detection and response.
• Proven ability to navigate ambiguity, build alignment across organisational boundaries and translate strategy into delivery.
