Engineering Manager, Detection

About the role

Intuition Machines builds enterprise security products using AI/ML, including the hCaptcha security suite, with a team distributed worldwide. The Detection team's mission is to help engineers and customers identify fraud and abuse by building tools, infrastructure and features that power the product's machine learning capabilities. As Engineering Manager you will lead solutions that directly impact user risk analysis and mitigation.

Key responsibilities

• Manage, grow and support a team of experienced engineers responsible for applications, tools and infrastructure that drive the security products.
• Work closely with engineers, scientists, stakeholders and domain experts to define and deliver solutions that reduce fraud and automation.
• Mentor and guide engineers so they can make the best decisions with the right tools and context.
• Take part in code and architecture design, contribute to feature development and maintain quality through peer reviews and mentorship.

Required profile

• 8+ years of professional experience in software engineering.
• 2+ years leading or managing engineering teams.
• Demonstrated leadership in building a high-performing, engaged team, preferably in geo-distributed organisations.

Required skills

• Extensive experience with TypeScript or Python, familiarity with Rust, Go or C++.
• Understanding of distributed systems and scaled operations, ideally with apps handling millions of requests per second.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes and Docker.
• Nice to have: edge worker platforms such as Cloudflare Workers, Fastly Edge Compute or Akamai Serverless Compute, and production applications in Rust or Golang.
