Data Analytics Internship – UNODC, Vienna

About the role

This internship is based in the Data, Analytics and Statistics Section of UNODC in Vienna. You will support the collection, validation and analysis of data on illicit drugs and crime, contributing to UN reports and statistical products.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in background research and review of data collection instruments and methodological guidelines.
• Analyze trends in time‑series data on drugs and crime using internal and external databases.
• Collect information from diverse sources and help prepare statistical products for UNODC reports and regional studies.
• Support the organization of international workshops and meetings related to data on drugs and crime.
• Undertake other relevant assignments as required.

Required profile

• Enrolled in or recently completed a graduate programme, or in the final academic year of a bachelor’s programme.
• Strong academic background in statistics, data analysis or a related field.

Required skills

• Proficiency with MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Working knowledge of statistical software such as R, Python or Stata.
