Business Unit Director – Pharma Specialty

About the role

The Business Unit Director (BUD) leads the Specialty Products portfolio across Austria and Switzerland, overseeing therapeutic areas such as PH, HIV, Legacy and Immunology. As a member of the Country Leadership Team, the BUD shapes strategy, culture and cross‑functional performance.

Key responsibilities

• Own full P&L responsibility, driving revenue growth, cost control and profitability.
• Develop and execute long‑term strategy, annual operating plans and LROP aligned with global priorities.
• Lead end‑to‑end commercialization, including brand strategy, omnichannel engagement, sales excellence and launch readiness.
• Build and coach a high‑performing, diverse leadership team and manage talent development.
• Represent the Business Unit with senior external stakeholders and navigate a complex regional matrix.

Required profile

• University degree in biosciences or business; MBA or PhD preferred.
• 10+ years of senior leadership experience in pharma/biotech with proven P&L ownership.
• Strong track record in brand and portfolio management, product launch, and digital commercialization.
• Excellent stakeholder management and fluency in English; German strongly preferred.
