Job description

About the role

The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) is seeking a consultant to develop an audit guide on corruption risks related to climate change and to support capacity‑building activities with the Latin American and Caribbean Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (OLACEFS). The role will involve drafting guidance, delivering virtual workshops, and contributing as an expert in a dialogue series on corruption and environmental governance.

Key responsibilities

  • Prepare the first draft of an audit guide on corruption and climate change, incorporating international best practices, risk guidance for carbon registries, climate funds, and audit planning templates.
  • Organise and deliver two virtual workshops for OLACEFS auditors: one to co‑develop the guideline and a second to present, discuss, and validate the preliminary draft and outline a virtual training course.
  • Participate as an expert in a 2026 dialogue series on corruption and environmental governance hosted by COMTEMA, providing technical input on climate‑related corruption risks.
  • Submit and virtually present the final version of the Audit Guide on Corruption and Climate Change, including comprehensive guidance, templates, and supporting material.
  • Design a complete virtual training package on auditing corruption risks in climate change, covering structure, learning objectives, facilitator and participant guides, presentations, exercises, case studies, assessment tools, and delivery recommendations for OLACEFS’ learning platform.

Required profile

  • Demonstrated experience in anti‑corruption, climate governance, or audit methodology, preferably within an international or UN context.
  • Ability to work remotely, maintain proactive communication with the project team, and meet deliverable deadlines from September to December 2026.
  • Familiarity with the United Nations Convention against Corruption (UNCAC) and the work of OLACEFS is advantageous.
