AI/ML Developer Consultant

About the role

The United Nations Office at Vienna is seeking an experienced AI/ML Developer Consultant to design, build, and deploy a machine‑learning solution for STR classification. The consultant will work onsite in Vienna and travel to Indonesia and Pakistan as required.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse data sources and define the Analytical Base Table (ABT) schema.
• Develop ETL scripts, data‑cleaning pipelines, and transformation processes.
• Conduct exploratory data analysis, generate correlation matrices and class‑imbalance reports.
• Build, validate and interpret supervised ML models, addressing class imbalance.
• Design technical architecture, develop backend APIs and frontend wizard components.
• Test model performance, refine algorithms, and deploy a minimum viable product (MVP) with a Financial Intelligence Unit.
• Produce technical documentation, user guides and training materials.

Required profile

• Advanced university degree (Master’s or equivalent) in Computer Science or related field, or a first‑level degree with at least 2 years relevant experience.
• Minimum seven years of experience in artificial intelligence, machine learning, predictive modelling, and graph analytics.
• Proven ability to work under supervision of senior staff and deliver complex technical solutions.
