AI Engineer – Generative AI & Agentic Systems

About the role

As an AI Engineer at netconomy you will drive innovation by designing and delivering cutting‑edge Generative AI solutions and intelligent agentic systems. You will work in a collaborative, cross‑functional environment across several European locations, turning complex business challenges into scalable AI products.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement end‑to‑end Generative AI, AI agents, and Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines.
• Collaborate with product, engineering and client teams to gather requirements and deliver robust, production‑ready AI solutions.
• Research, evaluate and prototype emerging AI models, agentic frameworks and development kits.
• Build proof‑of‑concepts to demonstrate feasibility and value of proposed solutions.
• Communicate directly with clients to understand needs and tailor AI‑driven offerings.

Required profile

• 3+ years of applied AI or Machine Learning experience in an industrial setting.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently on complex projects.
• Passion for staying up‑to‑date with the latest Generative AI and agentic technologies.

Required skills

• Generative AI and agentic application development at scale.
• Experience with agentic frameworks such as LangGraph, Google Agent Development Kit (ADK) or Agno.
• Knowledge of Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines and vector databases.
• Proficiency with Cloud AI platforms (GCP, AWS, Azure) including ready‑to‑use services, AutoML and custom model development.
• Familiarity with Google Cloud AI/ML stack (Vertex AI, Gemini Models, Vector Search).
• Use of AI evaluation frameworks (RAGAs, LangSmith) and robust testing strategies.
• Containerisation (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes).
• CI/CD pipelines for MLOps/AIOps and A/B testing of AI models.
