Internship: Human-Machine Interface (HMI) System Applications

About the role

Join the System Applications Team at NXP to support the development and optimisation of an HMI test bench using collaborative robots. This part‑time internship is ideal for a student studying a technical discipline and looking to gain hands‑on experience in a lab environment.

Key responsibilities

• Optimise robot movements for accuracy and execution time.
• Extend the existing LabVIEW framework with new features.
• Provide 3D design support for small fixtures and assist with 3D printing.
• Solder surface‑mount devices (SMD) and perform measurement tasks using lab instruments.

Required profile

• Ongoing studies in a technical field such as Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering or Smart Automation.
• Knowledge of collaborative robots (cobots) and path‑planning concepts.
• Experience with 3D design and 3D printing.
• Proficiency in LabVIEW programming; basic Python knowledge.
• Basic understanding of embedded microcontrollers is a plus.
• Good English communication skills, valid work authorization and availability of around 20 hours per week.
