GTM Engineer – Scale High‑Volume Email Outreach

About the role

As a GTM Engineer at clera, you will own and scale the outbound email engine for a fast‑growing AI communications software business. You will combine deliverability expertise, thoughtful copywriting, and data‑led experimentation to generate a consistent flow of qualified sales pipeline.

Key responsibilities

• Build and operate high‑volume email sending infrastructure across multiple domains and mailboxes, safely scaling to six‑ or seven‑figure monthly sends.
• Manage end‑to‑end deliverability, including domain setup, SPF, DKIM, DMARC configuration, warm‑up protocols, bounce management, and inbox placement.
• Write and test personalized, human‑sounding cold‑email copy that drives outbound conversion.
• Build prospect lists, maintain data quality, validation, hygiene, and segmentation for campaigns.
• Design and run experiments on messaging, subject lines, send times, and targeting, using results to improve conversion.
• Manage outbound workflows and integrations with modern MarTech and CRM tools such as Smartlead or Instantly.
• Turn campaign performance data into actionable insights for the sales pipeline.

Required profile

• At least 3 years of hands‑on experience building and operating high‑volume email outreach infrastructure.
• Expert knowledge of email deliverability fundamentals and experience managing dozens or hundreds of mailboxes and domains.
• Strong cold‑email copywriting skills with the ability to personalize at scale.
• Experience with prospect research, list building, data pipelines, and outbound campaign execution.
• Track record of running A/B tests and conversion‑optimization experiments using a data‑driven approach.
• Native‑level German and fluent English; experience with AI voice agents or conversational AI is a plus.
