Senior Software Engineer, Agent Tracing

About the role

Sentry is building an AI‑native future for application monitoring. The Senior Software Engineer on the Agent Tracing product will own the end‑to‑end experience that lets developers debug complex LLM‑powered agent runs, from backend storage to interactive front‑end dashboards.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and ship full‑stack features (Python/Django, PostgreSQL, React, TypeScript) that surface agent runs, tool calls, token usage and costs.
• Build fast, queryable data pipelines that filter and sort millions of conversations and expose robust APIs.
• Detect and surface common agent failure classes as actionable issues for developers.
• Collaborate daily with product managers, designers, SDK engineers and other product engineers to refine requirements and ensure a smooth developer experience.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional experience building and shipping full‑stack web applications.
• Track record of taking ambiguous problems from concept through design, implementation, rollout and measurement.
• Strong communication skills in English, both written and spoken.
• Willingness to live in Vienna or relocate for the role.

Required skills

• Python (Django or similar) and PostgreSQL.
• React and TypeScript.
• Experience with LLMs or agent frameworks and their failure modes.
• Familiarity with large‑scale analytical stores (e.g., ClickHouse) and observability tools (e.g., OpenTelemetry) is a plus.
