Quantum Computer Infrastructure Administrator

About the role

The QC Infrastructure Administrator will ensure reliable operation of AQT's quantum computing systems and their supporting IT infrastructure. You will design, implement and maintain management, monitoring and backup solutions for both local and remote quantum computers. The role also serves as the primary contact for internal stakeholders requiring infrastructure support.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, design and develop a management system to monitor and update internal IT systems of quantum computers.
• Install and maintain data‑center infrastructure, including quantum computing hardware and network appliances.
• Implement and manage infrastructure for system monitoring and backup.
• Ensure high‑availability of network and quantum‑computing infrastructure.
• Introduce alerting mechanisms to minimise downtime.
• Lead debugging and diagnosis of network and quantum‑computing issues.
• Establish a secure IT environment and keep network documentation up‑to‑date.
• Support internal stakeholders across relevant areas.

Required profile

• MSc degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• Strong knowledge of best practices for management, control, backup and monitoring of IT & network infrastructure.
• Hands‑on experience configuring and integrating network hardware.
• Proactive problem‑solver with great attention to detail.
• Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.
• Fluent in spoken and written English.
