Internship – Labour Mobility & Integration (LMI) Unit and Counter‑Trafficking (CT) Unit

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is offering a short‑term internship in its Labour Mobility & Integration (LMI) Unit and Counter‑Trafficking (CT) Unit at the Country Office in Vienna, Austria. The placement runs from 1 November 2026 to 28 February 2027 (with possible extension) and can be undertaken full‑time or part‑time.

Key responsibilities

• Support the LMI and CT units in research, data collection and analysis related to migration, labour mobility and anti‑trafficking initiatives.
• Assist in drafting reports, briefing notes and communication materials for internal and external stakeholders.
• Participate in coordination meetings, contribute to project planning and follow‑up activities.
• Help maintain databases and document filing systems in accordance with IOM standards.

Required profile

• Enrolled in the final year of a Bachelor’s programme or graduated within the last 12 months.
• Age between 20 and 36 years.
• Less than two years of relevant work experience.
• Interest or academic background in migration, labour mobility, human rights or related fields.
• Ability to work on‑site in Vienna and cover travel, visa and related costs.
