Project Associate – Assisted Voluntary Return & Reintegration

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking a Project Associate to support Assisted Voluntary Return and Reintegration (AVRR) projects in Austria. Working under the Chief of Mission and the Head of Unit for AVRR, you will help ensure safe, timely and dignified returns for vulnerable migrants.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the planning, implementation and monitoring of AVRR projects.
• Coordinate activities with IOM offices in countries of return and Austrian stakeholders.
• Support quality‑assurance measures, including training, exchange opportunities and outreach.
• Contribute to communication and reporting activities for project partners.
• Provide operational and needs‑based support to guarantee sustainable reintegration.

Required profile

• School diploma with at least five years relevant experience, OR a Bachelor’s degree in Political or Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law or related fields with three years relevant experience.
• Demonstrated interest in migration, return and reintegration issues.
• Ability to work in a multicultural environment and liaise with diverse partners.
