Ventures Analyst / Associate – Physical & Industrial AI

About the role

Plug and Play’s Linz office is building a Physical & Industrial AI Center of Excellence. We are looking for a Ventures Analyst or Associate to source startups, support investments and work closely with corporate partners in the industrial AI space.

Key responsibilities

• Source pre‑seed to Series A startups for investment and corporate introductions.
• Map market dynamics, track industry trends and build sector expertise in Physical & Industrial AI.
• Support deal teams with investment memos, market research and due‑diligence.
• Connect startups with advisors, tech vendors and service providers to accelerate scaling.
• Conduct research for corporate partners, identify tech solutions and evaluate ROI potential.
• Help organise events, demo days and partner sessions for the Austrian offices.
• Contribute to building the Linz office, shaping sourcing processes and regional ecosystem relationships.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in an engineering or technical field.
• At least 2 years of experience in venture capital, startups, strategy consulting or an engineering role.
• Fluent English; German is a strong plus.
• Strong analytical and written communication skills for market maps and partner‑facing materials.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Google Workspace or Microsoft 365.
• Experience using AI tools such as Claude or ChatGPT in daily workflow.
