Team Lead Firmware Engineer

About the role

We are looking for an experienced professional to join us as a Senior Firmware Engineer (f/m/x) and take on the role of Team Lead from day one. As part of our Firmware Platform team, you will develop the technological foundation that powers Anton Paar’s instrument teams.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and mentor a small firmware development team while fostering a culture of quality and continuous improvement.
• Own and manage the firmware product backlog by structuring requirements, prioritizing work packages, and enabling efficient team execution.
• Develop reusable firmware platform components in C/C++ with well‑defined software architectures and interfaces.
• Drive architectural decisions within the team’s area of responsibility.
• Analyze and evaluate requirements, translating them into technical specifications and realistic development plans.
• Actively contribute to the design, development, and implementation of innovative firmware solutions.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science, Embedded Systems, Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.
• Several years of experience developing embedded firmware for microcontrollers with a focus on abstraction, clean interfaces and testable architectures.
• Strong programming skills in C, C++, RTOS concepts and Python.
• Proven ability to work independently, take ownership of tasks and drive them to successful completion.
• Collaborative team player with excellent communication skills and a supportive mindset.
