Strategic Buyer for Indirect Materials (ITS Division)

About the role

SWARCO, a traffic solutions group with about 5,700 employees worldwide, is looking for a Strategic Buyer for Indirect Materials and Services for its ITS Division in Wattens. The role covers strategic procurement, supplier selection and negotiation, and works closely with international branches.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and select new suppliers and partners, and find synergy and optimisation potential within the existing supplier portfolio
• Prepare and run requests for proposals, and conduct price and contract negotiations
• Take part in award decisions and contract execution
• Collaborate cross-functionally with international branches to coordinate strategic procurement and define medium- and long-term strategy
• Improve existing procurement processes, especially regarding digitalisation and efficiency
• Manage and take part in international purchasing and procurement projects

Required profile

• Completed commercial studies and a technical understanding of advantages
• Several years of professional experience in strategic purchasing, ideally with a focus on indirect procurement
• Experience with complex or international procurement projects
• Analytical, independent, structured and solution-oriented approach, with strong internal customer orientation
• Fluent spoken and written German and English

Required skills

• Strong negotiation skills and assertiveness
• Very good MS Office skills
• ERP experience, particularly SAP, is a plus
