QA Mobile Automation Engineer – Freelancer

About the role

As a QA Mobile Automation Engineer (Freelancer) you will expand automated test coverage for Roche's mobile health applications, ensuring high quality and safety for users.

Key responsibilities

• Convert manual test cases into reliable automated end‑to‑end tests for iOS and Android using the existing framework.
• Drive the strategy to increase automated coverage and reduce manual regression effort.
• Analyse test failures, differentiate flaky tests from real defects, and provide detailed bug reports.
• Maintain and extend shared automation framework components to support new scenarios.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions) for frequent releases.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent.
• 6–9 years of software QA experience, with at least 3 years in mobile automation.
• Strong communication skills and professional proficiency in English.

Required skills

• Automation tools: Appium, Espresso, UIAutomator2, XCUITest.
• Frameworks: TestNG, JUnit.
• Programming/scripting: Java, Kotlin, Swift, JavaScript.
• Test management: JIRA, Confluence, TestRail.
• Version control: GitHub.
• API testing tools: Postman, JMeter, Charles Proxy.
• Agile/Scrum methodology.
