International Consultant (Cybercrime Investigation Expert)

About the role
The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) seeks an International Consultant with deep expertise in cybercrime investigation to support capacity‑building activities across francophone African countries. Working remotely from Vienna, the consultant will travel to Africa to deliver training, develop curricula, and assist national authorities in tackling online child sexual exploitation and abuse.
Key responsibilities
- Design and deliver a train‑the‑trainer program on Online Child Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (OCSEA) for investigators in Benin and Togo.
- Develop a comprehensive curriculum on cybercrime, OCSEA investigation and digital evidence for a police academy in a selected francophone African country.
- Facilitate the receipt and analysis of NCMEC cybertips or Child Rescue Coalition reports.
- Organise and lead a regional training session and a specialised workshop for OCSEA units.
- Provide technical advice, mentoring and support to national criminal‑justice practitioners throughout the assignment period (01 Sep 2026 – 15 Jul 2027).
Required profile
- Advanced university degree (Master’s or equivalent) in computer science, digital forensics, cybersecurity, network security, telecommunications or a related field.
- Relevant professional experience in cybercrime investigations, preferably with exposure to child sexual exploitation cases.
- Demonstrated ability to develop training materials and deliver instruction to law‑enforcement audiences.
- Willingness to travel extensively within Africa and work in multilingual environments.
