Embedded Firmware Design Engineer

About the role

Join NXP's Digital NFC Modem Group in Gratkorn to develop and test high‑quality embedded firmware for cutting‑edge semiconductor solutions. You will work alongside experienced engineers across the full firmware development lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, test, and verify embedded firmware solutions.
• Translate customer and system requirements into firmware implementations.
• Collaborate with senior engineers on priorities, deliverables, and project plans.
• Write clean, high‑quality code and supporting documentation.
• Contribute to improving firmware development processes and workflows.

Required profile

• University degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Computer Science or related field.
• Knowledge of embedded software development and software engineering principles.
• Proficiency in English (written and spoken).
• Good organization skills and effective work routines.

Required skills

• Programming in C, C++ and/or Rust.
• Experience with Linux, command‑line tools and scripting.
• Python programming.
• Version control systems such as Git or SVN.
• Understanding of Object‑Oriented Programming concepts.
• Familiarity with Agile development and Continuous Integration.
• Experience with RTOS‑based firmware development.
• Knowledge of embedded hardware architectures, HDL design and digital verification tools.
