Embedded C++ Software Developer (V2X & GNSS)

About the role

Kapsch TrafficCom, part of the Kapsch Group, is looking for an Embedded Software Engineer in Vienna. You will design, develop and test high-quality embedded software, turning customer and product requirements into reliable, scalable platform capabilities for next-generation V2X and GNSS technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and validate embedded V2X and GNSS software and supporting development tools.
• Implement high-quality, maintainable and reusable code following embedded systems best practices.
• Work with product management and design teams to turn user needs into scalable platform capabilities.
• Contribute to system design discussions so that solutions are robust, efficient and extensible.

Required profile

• A technical degree, preferably a master's in systems engineering, software architecture, computer science, information technology or a related field.
• More than 5 years of professional experience in embedded software development and Linux-based applications.
• Expert-level C and C++; IBM Rational Rhapsody is a plus.
• Familiarity with communication protocol interfaces (V2X, GNSS, 3G/4G, TCP/IP, Bluetooth, LWM2M) is desirable.
• Proven experience writing testable code, automated unit tests and working with automated test environments.
• Business-fluent English is essential; German is an asset.
• Experience with Jira, Confluence, GitLab, Docker, Kibana and Grafana is advantageous, as is familiarity with agile development.
