Embedded AI Security Research Engineer

About the role

Join NXP's Innovation Team to secure next‑generation AI‑powered edge products. You will research and prototype AI security technologies that protect models, algorithms, and data across automotive, industrial, IoT and other edge applications.

Key responsibilities

• Protect AI models, algorithms and data from emerging threats.
• Research, prototype and evaluate next‑generation AI security technologies such as adversarial AI, model extraction attacks, privacy‑preserving AI and trustworthy AI.
• Secure AI workloads on advanced semiconductor platforms and transform research ideas into working prototypes and future product concepts.
• Collaborate with experts in AI, security, software, hardware and silicon engineering.

Required profile

• Recently completed (or close to completing) a PhD, Postdoc or an exceptional AI‑focused Master’s degree in AI, Machine Learning, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Embedded Systems, Cryptography, Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Passionate about AI, enjoys reading AI papers, experimenting with the latest models in spare time, and wants research to become real products.

Required skills

• Experience with AI/ML concepts, Large Language Models, Deep Learning and adversarial machine learning.
• Knowledge of AI security, privacy‑preserving AI and Trusted Execution Environments.
• Proficiency with frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, JAX.
• Strong Python programming and experimental prototyping skills.
