Budget Assistant (Temporary)

About the role

The United Nations Office at Vienna is seeking a temporary Budget Assistant to support the Budget Section of the Financial Resources Management Service. Working under the Chief of Unit, the incumbent will help collect workload data, calculate cost-recovery rate cards and ensure timely invoicing for UNODC services.

Key responsibilities

• Contact division services to obtain workload statistics and document data sources.
• Verify client submissions, clarify issues, calculate and validate cost-recovery rate cards, and submit them to headquarters.
• Process cost-recovery transactions, issue invoices or journal vouchers, monitor payments and follow up arrears, escalating cases over 90 days.
• Distribute credits to clients and perform monthly reconciliations.
• Assist in designing and updating the cost manual, ensuring approved rates are reflected.
• Maintain both paper and electronic files and databases for the work unit.

Required profile
