Associate Interpreter – Russian/Ukrainian (TJO)

About the role

The Independent International Commission of Inquiry on Ukraine seeks an Associate Interpreter to provide high‑quality translation and simultaneous interpretation between English and Russian or Ukrainian. The role supports the Commission’s work on gender‑sensitive documentation of sexual and gender‑based violence.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver accurate translation and simultaneous interpretation (English ↔ Russian/Ukrainian) while integrating a gender perspective.
• Maintain strict confidentiality and security of all information.
• Participate in field missions, interpreting interviews with victims, witnesses and sources.
• Assist in data collection, analysis and visualization, producing graphs, charts and reports for decision‑making.
• Perform other related duties as required.

• Professional knowledge of relevant sector concepts and ability to analyse and resolve issues.
• Strong analytical and research skills, including data‑collection methods.
• Ability to apply sound judgment, manage priorities and work under pressure.
