Android Developer - Neobank App

About the role

BJAK, the leading insurance platform in Southeast Asia, is expanding its business beyond insurance and is looking for an Android Developer to build the native Android experience for its AI Neobank app. The role suits someone who cares about clean user flows, fast performance, product quality and shipping reliable mobile features used by real customers. The position is remote, but candidates must be based in Austria.

Key responsibilities

• Build and ship native Android features for onboarding, accounts, cards, payments, transfers, rewards and AI-assisted user journeys.
• Turn complex financial flows into simple, fast and reliable mobile experiences.
• Work with product, design, backend and AI engineers to take features from idea to production.
• Own app quality across performance, crash rate, loading states, edge cases and release stability.
• Use production feedback, analytics and customer behaviour to improve the app after launch.
• Integrate APIs, authentication, secure data handling and financial workflows with a focus on reliability.

Required profile

• Strong native Android experience using Kotlin.
• Experience shipping Android apps used by real users.
• Good understanding of Android architecture, Jetpack, Coroutines, Flow and modern Android development.
• Strong product sense and care for UX, not just screens and tickets.
• Able to debug production issues and improve performance, reliability and app quality.
• Comfortable working with ambiguity and moving fast in a startup environment.
• Strong English communication; the main working language across global teams.
