Treasury Payments Officer

About the role

The Treasury Payments Officer will manage and execute global banking payment operations for the OPEC Fund, ensuring timely, cost‑effective disbursements and administrative payments. The role supports senior financial controls staff and contributes to financial reporting and monitoring.

Key responsibilities

• Execute global loan disbursements and administrative payments in multiple currencies through the Fund’s house‑bank accounts, adhering to service‑level timelines.
• Maintain and develop relationships with house banks, resolve payment rejections, settlement issues and operational inquiries.
• Monitor house‑bank liquidity, collaborate with Treasury on cash and collateral requirements, and oversee collateral settlement processes.
• Reconcile house‑bank accounts, provide daily cash and collateral position updates, and support internal and external audit activities.
• Operate treasury management, ERP and electronic banking platforms, support system upgrades, UAT and process‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or related field with at least 5 years relevant experience (or Bachelor’s with 10 years), including 2 years in a leading international bank or multilateral development institution.
• Demonstrated ability to identify operational risks, respond to client queries and drive process‑improvement and automation.

Required skills

• Proficiency with SWIFT, securities transactions, cash management, collateral management and treasury management systems.
• Practical experience with Calypso (asset) and familiarity with cash correspondent models and custodians, especially in emerging markets.
