Senior Public Affairs and Communications Manager

About the role

Huawei is looking for an experienced Senior Public Affairs & Communications Manager to strengthen its presence and stakeholder relationships in Austria. The role works closely with political, business, industry and media stakeholders, supporting Huawei's positioning in the ICT and renewable energy sectors. It is based in Vienna.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor political and regulatory developments in Austria and assess their potential impact on Huawei's business
• Build and maintain relationships with key decision-makers, industry associations and the business environment
• Support the communication strategy, including media relations, press releases and corporate messaging
• Represent Huawei in industry meetings, stakeholder discussions and events
• Lead the planning and implementation of PR, public affairs and CSR projects, especially in education, digital inclusion and sustainability
• Work with local and international teams to align public affairs and communication activities with business priorities

Required profile

• University degree in Political Science, Public Affairs, Communications, Law, International Relations or a related field
• Minimum 5 years of experience in Public Affairs, Government Relations or Corporate Communications, preferably in Austria
• Good understanding of Austria's political, regulatory and business environment
• Fluent German and English, written and spoken
• Willingness to travel when required
• Eligible to work and live in Vienna

• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities and handle sensitive topics professionally
• Organizational skills and MS Office proficiency
