Public Information & Social Media Intern

About the role

The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) is seeking a motivated intern to support its Advocacy Section’s public information and social media activities. This full‑time, unpaid position offers practical experience in communications within an international organization.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, edit and adapt content for various social media platforms.
• Schedule posts and monitor performance metrics.
• Create simple visual assets using Canva, adhering to UNODC branding guidelines.
• Assist in developing communication strategies and crisis‑communication support.
• Support the monitoring and evaluation of communication effectiveness.

Required profile

• Enrolled in or recently completed a graduate programme, or in the final year of a bachelor’s degree.
• Computer literate with standard software applications.
• Strong interest in UN work and commitment to its Charter ideals.
• Ability to interact respectfully with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds.

Required skills

• Canva for creating visual content.
• Proficiency with standard office software (e.g., Microsoft Office).
