Principal Embedded Crypto Software Developer

About the role

Join NXP’s Competence Center Crypto & Security to design and deliver state‑of‑the‑art cryptographic libraries for a wide range of products, from automotive to IoT. You will work in a highly talented international team, shaping the future of embedded security.

Key responsibilities

• Specify and implement cross‑platform cryptographic algorithms, including post‑quantum schemes.
• Design software countermeasures against side‑channel analysis and fault‑injection attacks.
• Collaborate with security architects, OS/firmware teams and test engineers to ensure secure integration.
• Provide technical leadership, influence architecture decisions and support project planning.
• Drive product certification activities and support security evaluations.

Required profile

• BSc, MSc or PhD in mathematics, cryptography, computer science, electronic/electrical engineering or related field.
• 10+ years of industry experience in cryptography and embedded security, or equivalent advanced degree plus experience.
• Strong understanding of cryptographic primitives such as ECC, RSA, AES, SHA‑2/SHA‑3.
• Proactive team player with a strong sense of ownership and proven delivery record.

Required skills

• Embedded software development in C and Assembly.
• Microcontroller architectures: ARM Cortex‑M, RISC‑V.
• Implementation of ECC, RSA, AES, SHA‑2, SHA‑3.
• Hardware/software countermeasures for side‑channel and fault‑injection attacks.
• Experience with post‑quantum cryptography (plus).
• Knowledge of Rust (plus).
• Strong debugging and analysis capabilities.
