Head of Global Category & Trade Marketing

About the role

As Head of Global Category & Trade Marketing you will define and own the worldwide category strategy for waterdrop®, turning shopper insights and market trends into growth opportunities across retail and digital channels.

Key responsibilities

• Shape the global category vision, identifying growth opportunities, shopper insights and market trends.
• Lead trade‑marketing excellence by defining POS activation strategies, merchandising principles and scalable in‑store communication standards.
• Develop global tools, playbooks and activation frameworks to ensure consistent, premium brand execution in every market.
• Create compelling sell‑in materials, including category narratives, launch stories and retailer pitch decks.
• Coordinate cross‑functional alignment between Global Marketing, Innovation, Portfolio, Sales, Operations and local markets.
• Drive global reporting and insights on shopper trends, category performance and competitive updates.
• Lead and facilitate global sell‑in events such as launch briefings, distributor conferences and capability‑building sessions.
• Build and develop a high‑performing Global Category & Trade Marketing team through training and coaching.

Required profile

• 8+ years of experience in Category Management, Trade Marketing, Shopper Marketing or Commercial Strategy, preferably in FMCG, beverages or consumer goods.
• Proven track record of building category visions and working with major international retailers, distributors or partners.
• Deep understanding of shopper behaviour, POS activation and global retail environments.
• Exceptional communication and storytelling abilities, able to translate insights into compelling narratives.
• Fluent in English (written & verbal); German is a plus but not required.
