Financial Investigations Consultant – Illicit Financial Flows

About the role

The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) seeks a consultant to support its Anti‑corruption and Economic Crime Hub for Africa. The assignment focuses on developing and delivering training and technical sessions on illicit financial flows linked to environmental crime and on national cooperation in financial investigations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop tailored training materials on illicit financial flows related to environmental crime.
• Facilitate technical sessions during the national workshop in Gabon, identifying country‑specific typologies and operational challenges.
• Prepare and deliver a comprehensive workshop report with key outcomes and recommendations.
• Create training materials on national cooperation for financial investigations.
• Conduct technical sessions in national workshops in Congo, Chad and Gabon on cooperation in financial investigations.
• Produce workshop reports summarising outcomes and recommendations for each country.

Required profile

• Proven expertise in financial investigations and illicit financial flows.
• Experience delivering technical sessions and facilitating workshops for national authorities.
• Familiarity with UNODC anti‑corruption, economic crime, and illicit finance frameworks.
