Security Intern (Pass and ID Team)

About the role

The Security Intern will join the Pass and ID Team within the Security and Safety Services of the United Nations Office in Vienna. Working under the supervision of the Lieutenant, the intern will provide administrative and operational support to the Pass Office for a six‑month unpaid full‑time placement.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in registering Legitimation Cards in the internal management system.
• Prepare photographs for staff, dependents, and visa‑related documentation.
• Support the pre‑printing of access cards for meetings, conferences and special events.
• Verify application data against internal databases to ensure accuracy.
• Distribute official documents such as Legitimation Cards and related confirmations while maintaining proper records.
• Update personnel records based on Ground Pass Application information.
• Monitor and organize Pass Office inventory and office supplies.
• Help compile and publish the quarterly newsletter using SharePoint, Canva or similar tools.
• Perform other administrative tasks as required by the Pass Office.

Required profile

• Enrolled in or recently completed a graduate programme, or in the final year of a bachelor’s degree.
• Field of study closely related to security, administration or international affairs.
• No prior professional experience required.
